You might not have heard of a man named Paul David Hewson but it is likely that you have heard of the his stage name -- Bono. There are few people, from those working in Tokyo to those that run a dentist Courtice Ontario clinic that have not. Bono is the Irish lead singer of the band U2 and is now known as one of the most famous humanitarians in the world. He has written all of the lyrics for the songs his band has written and frequently includes religious, political and social themes into this work. We want to dedicate this site to everything about the life and work of Bono.

Paul David Hewson was born in Dublin in 1960 and was raised in a Roman Catholic household with his parents and one brother. He lost his mother to a cerebral aneurysm when he was only 14 and would go on to write several songs about this experience. He got the nickname Bono in high school when he was part of a surrealist street gang called Lypton Village. It was a short form for the Latin phrase "Bono Vox", which means good voice. It was while attending Mount Temple Comprehensive School for high school that Bono met his bandmates and his wife, Alison Hewson. Bono started out as one of the guitar players for the band but it was soon discovered that he was much more talented as a singer and songwriter. This is a project that has partners in Apple, the Gap, Microsoft, Dell, and several others.
